The semiannual meeting of the William and Mary Alumni Association Board of Directors was held in Williamsburg, Sept. 27-28, 2007.
Three guest speakers presented to the full board. Mary Schilling, director of the Career Center, reviewed the status of the new building and the services offered.
Drew Stelljes Ph.D. '07, director of Student Volunteer Services, discussed the civic/ vounteer engagement program available to alumni. Lee Foster, director of Leadership and Special Gifts for Development, spoke on the Alumni Association's endowments and the Alumni Leadership Fund.
The Executive Committee of the Board met beforehand to review proposed changes to the sick leave policy, the annual leave policy and the honorary alumni policy. The committee reviewed, explained and discussed the internal management audit conducted by the College under the direction of Michael Stump M.Ed. '93, Ed.D. '01, director of internal audit, and the Alumni Association's Elaine Campbell, director of business.
Robin Wilcox, vice president of investments of Wachovia Bank, and Bryce Lee, institutional consulting analyst of Wachovia Bank, reviewed the investment portfolio with the Finance and Operations Committee. Mitch Bean '77 and Kevin Carpenter from Goodman & Company outlined the financial audit. The Alumni Association received a "clean" audit opinion.
